Living My Own Advice
The last few posts on my blog have been about recovering after an illness or flare-up, and some simple ways to deal with stress. Those of us who have chronic illness can be pretty depleted after an illness–even after a cold–from which most people would bounce back very quickly! Right now, I’m using the advice I’ve been writing here this week, and am making progress in recovering from that recent bout of bronchitis! I’m feeling better–but still a little bit weak. I’ve been working on walking about 30 minutes every day, sometimes coughing all the way (that rhyme was not intended!
)! But this has helped me to regain strength again. Thankfully, my asthma is also improving–I have to stay on the upper doses of my asthma medicine for a while, but can go down to my normal dose once my peak flow is back to normal!
Today, in celebration of my recovery, I’m going out to have lunch with one of my Czech friends!!! I’m so excited! This will be my first real outing with another person in about a month!!! Sunday, too, I’m meeting with some other friends!!! It will be great to be out again, but I’m still recovering, so I will have to really pay attention to my own advice, and listen to my body’s signals to keep from overdoing and relapsing! Even so, getting out of the house and spending some time with friends will be good for my spirit, and this will in turn help my body in the recovery process.
I wanted to be sure and relate all this to you today in my blog, so that you know I do really follow the advice I write here! Living with chronic illness is a journey–but it doesn’t have to keep you from living a fulfilled and successful life! We may have to slow down a bit, but we can go on living our lives, making each day the best we can!

Hi Sher,
It’s great that you are going out again! It must be so nice to get out in the fresh air after all that time at home! I hope that you will have a wonderful time at lunch with your friend.
Best wishes,
Roz
